AutoCAD is definitely the industry standard for the construction industry. Other industries, such as shipbuilding, manufacturing (CAD/CAM), mechanical engineering, etc. may use different software designed for specific needs. It really depends on what you're looking to do, but you can't go wrong learning AutoCAD. However, it's not cheap software.
